Sinners Burns
At least, my Rifter is certainly on fire. Pics taken after a 1v1 (unarranged, just happened) against a Tristan at the Sun in Aeschee. I was a bit of a newb and just brawled with him, but unlike the last time I made this mistake, I was in a traditionally fit armor rifter w/ repper, so I was able to take the pounding and come out victorious. An exhilarating fight and a promising omen of things to come.
You see, Sinners. recently joined the Burn Away alliance, home to some of the nastiest and douchiest (lawl play on words) lowsec PVPers around. Can’t properly call them pirates, in my mind at least, as they prefer the good fights as opposed to ransoms (though there are notable exceptions among the ranks). However, they certainly know what the hell they are doing, which is a refreshing change of pace from the way that I’ve been blundering through space for the last couple weeks.
Shortly after Sinners. joined PIRATES alliance, I had a talk with Ashkrall (executor of Burn Away) in which the prospect of joining Burn Away was brought up. I demurred at first, on the principle that Sinners. had literally just barely joined the PIRATES alliance. However, after a few days of work by Ash and Rixx Javix at Eveoganda, I was sold. They were active in our timezone, had proven themselves (to our detriment at times) to be very good pilots, and they know tons of people in lowsec and often cooperate with such esteemable organizations as Tuskers and Shadow Cartel.
After some discussion and calls for opinion, the decision was made to accept the offer and sport a new tag. I’ll take a moment here to apologize for Zakarius, leader of PIRATES, for the quick entry and exit of Sinners. PIRATES is a great organization with a unique idea driving it, one that I think will work out very well for them in the long run. Zak himself and the other members of PIRATES were very welcoming of us on their comms, however the fact remained that they weren’t in our TZ or our area. Given the opportunity at hand, I would’ve been a fool to turn Burn Away down.
Most everyone in the corp, despite our constant run-ins with Burn Away and the running smack battle in local (which is MINE, Ashkrall, FFUUU), seems really excited about the opportunity to fly with them. Unfortunately, I myself haven’t had too many opportunities due to the Mystery Cruiser Tournament and the Kirith Kodachi event on Sunday.
After the Tournament I was exhausted and on my way to being drunk, so when Terror suggested we roam out in the leftover fail cruisers, I was all for it. We got as far as Aeschee. There, we ran into a single Tusker in local who looked interested but wary. Of course, to him it looked like a cruiser pack with a Rupture, Omen, Vexor and Exequror (lol) at the top belt. Little did he know, my Rupture was sporting bulkheads and lazerz, the Omen had blasters (I think?) and fail armor tanked, and the Exequror had failed to kill a failfit Blackbird just a couple hours previous. To be fair, the Vexor was actually fit correctly, but nonetheless what followed was (there is no other word for it) gay.
SUDDENLY FALCON! We saw the local spike with Tuskers and saw various T2 frigs on scan. Excellent, we thought, a pretty fair match (actually, in light of our fits the Tuskers already had the advantage pretty handily)! A Jag landed right next to me so I dual-webbed it and shot lazerz and rockets at it. The others followed suit as more Tuskers landed. Then a Falcon decloaked 70km off and killed our buzz.
In short order we were all jammed. I linked my fit in local, drunkenly mocking Tuskers for jamming a Rupture with Medium Lazerz and Rockets on it. Eventually they turned their cold, emotionless faces to me and worked through my bulkheads until I was in my pod, helpless the whole time. I warped my pod out and shrugged. I DIDN’T WANT THAT SHIP ANYWAYS lolololol.
Little did I know, however, Douchingtons had arrived on the field – I doubt they came to ‘save’ us in Sinners., but save us they did as their counter-falcon got Abe and Terror out of the belt. Their drams managed to snag a couple Tuskers before they exited the field, taking down Ka Jolo and Kishin Hattori. Thanks to our new alliance mates, honor was satisfied and I retired for the evening.
The next night was the ‘Bring Me The Head of Kirith Kodachi – 2’ event over in Pelille, which isn’t terribly far away from Lisbaetanne. My vague plan had been to take a stealth bomber and go whore on to some killmails. Things began to go awry as soon as I looked at my hangar and noticed that I didn’t have any stealth bombers. So instead, I fit a Tracking Disruptor to my Cheetah and went on my merry way.
Jumping into a lowsec system always carries with it an element of risk, but I have learned not to panic in even the most dire of situations. However, I about shat a brick when I jumped into Pelille and saw 222 in local. Them be high sec numbers! It didn’t take long to find where all the fun was at. Many Abaddons, Guardians, and assorted other HACs/BSs abounded, but I managed to get a warp in near Kirith’s Chimera and whore successfully onto the killmail. Just a couple minutes after I did so, he went down in flames.
Other than that it’s been just more of the same around the Train, this time with more cool people to fly with. I haven’t felt this at-home with another group of people (outside Sinners.) in Eve in, well, ever. Hopefully we’ll have plenty of good times to come, like killing Socratic (who some of you might recognize) in a ratting Domi (lulz) and antagonizing fail carrier pilots in their Drakes.
Fly Smart,
Marc
